The course was derived from a customer's need for a basic vibration analysis training class based on vibration levels collected from an overall vibration meter. The class is designed for operators, maintenance personnel, or anyone who would be the first line of defense of mechanical vibration-related issues. The class goals include:
- Teach the correct vibration measurement locations concerning machine components
- Give a basic understating of the vibration units, including:
- Velocity
- Acceleration
- Bearing wear indicators
- Teach the basic principles of vibration data collection and interpretation of vibration amplitude with respect to alarm levels
- Understanding of vibration levels and how they relate to alarm values and machine condition
- Be able to communicate effectively about the vibration levels and a machine condition with respect to vibration
